If your dentist tells you your tooth is weak or even broken, you may be concerned. The good news is that this problem can be fixed with a dental crown. However, can be an extensive process.
Some people have to schedule at least two appointments and wait 2-3 weeks before they can get a crown on their tooth. This can be frustrating, especially if the damage to the tooth is extensive or if there is pain brushing your teeth.
Wouldn’t it be nice if your dentist could take impressions of your teeth and make you a crown, all in the same day? It is now possible, thanks to CEREC crown technology.

Dr. Monica Gobran understands that you’re busy. You may work full time or have kids or other obligations. You don’t have time to go to the dentist multiple times. We get it. Our in-office CAD (Computer Aided Design ) - CAM(Computer Aided Manufacturing ), or CEREC, machine can make resin crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays in just minutes. If you’re tired of dealing with cracked or chipped teeth, you’re in luck because our talented dentist can have a permanent crown ready for you in the same visit. This advanced dental technology makes it so that no temporary crown is needed while your crown is created, thanks to innovative digital technology. You don’t have to deal with messy impressions. While this process may seem brand-new to you, CEREC tooth crowns have been around for several decades, so there has been time to perfect this process.
Dr. Gobran will begin the CEREC crown process by removing any decay from the tooth. She will then prepare the tooth for pictures by spraying it with a fine powder that enhances the image. The tooth will appear on the computer screen and Dr. Gobran will then be able to create the crown right in front of you using the precise measurements of the 3D image, which accounts for pits, fissures, indentations, and ridges.
The process takes about 15 minutes. You can watch the entire crown procedure if you’d like.
Once the ceramic crown is created, Dr. Gobran will then place it in your mouth. It will be cemented onto the affected tooth. The whole process should take about two hours.
A crown can protect a broken or damaged tooth. If you want to save your natural tooth and are interested in same-day crowns, a CEREC dental crown may be a good choice. Dr. Gobran can help you achieve a gorgeous smile with natural teeth.
